i have always been a lover of journals, notebooks, diaries…the tangible objects of pen + paper to record life, inspirations, memories + dreams.
i was looking over my bookshelf one day & smiled seeing the diverse stack of notebooks i had collected over time. some filled with writings, some with empty pages waiting to be filled. but all relevant to a time and place…or at least will be when they are all overflowing with goodness.
it was this & the encouragement of a group of fellow photographers to kick off some personal projects, that has lead me to the artist ‘notebook’ series.
every creative that i know owns notebooks…be it painter, illustrator, yogi, photographer, writer or traveller.
so i am basing the images around their ‘notebooks’ to tell a little of their story through the details that arise like seeds from across the pages.
i can’t wait to see where ‘the notebook’ series takes me…!

vows at voyager | celebrations at vasse felix | winter perfection for a love filled day
surrounded by their families + closest friends – britt + aaron’s intimate margaret river winter wedding was the most gorgeous day to share. the moody skies held back the raindrops until just as they kissed, then with a dash into the cellar room of voyager, the open fireplace greeted us all for the signing. it was perfect! the clouds parted, the afternoon rolled into evening & the degustation menu at vasse felix by executive chef aaron carr awaited. every details of this day, we adored. quiet moments, heartfelt love, iconic locations, incredible wines, food & people. b+A thank you for inviting us to be a part of such an intimate afternoon. f+D x

advertising | food
in 2011 i was thrilled to have my image ‘the fine art of food’ receive an honourable mention in the ipa awards, amongst such an incredible selection of works by other creatives. it is still one of my favourites after all these years. the venison carpaccio image was a part of an inspiring shoot at the studio bistro in yallingup, with food by former executive chef blair allen, who now has his own restaurant in dunsborough, piari and co.
